The Progress Center is happy to announce the addition of a new training facility at our 35 Cottage Street campus. The newly renovated wing includes two multi-purpose conference rooms and an 8 person computer lab. Our team of trainers is excited to welcome you to the TPC family and invites you to join in on new training courses open to the community.

Certified Residential Medication Aide
The purpose of theCertified Residential Medication Aide course is to providetraining for professionals working in state certified residential care homes. The course covers State of Maine regulations, residential facility policies, basic anatomy and physiology of the human body. Participants will discuss common medications in the major drug classes, common side effects of medication and the individual’s response to medication side effects. Participants will learn safe medication administration procedures, vital signs, transcribing physicians’ orders, and how to document on a MAR (Medication Administration Record). Upon completion of this 40-hour medication course participants will be able to administer medications in accordance with Maine’s regulation. Under the guidance of an RN Educator each participant will be required to complete a clinical Medication Administration in a licensed facility on 3 different residents to be eligible for certification.

- Participants will learn how to safely administer medications
- 40 hour course over 5 days of onsite learning, 9 am to 5 pm
- Recertification required every 2 year

CRMA Recertification Course
Each participant will be required to complete a mock Medication Administration Pass (supervised by the RN – registered nurse), including transcription of a MAR and a test. Participants are encouraged to prepare through self – study. There is no course review given for this class. Participants are expected to come in ready to test and complete all course requirements.
Course Details
- Participants will complete mock Medication Administration Pass
- 8 hour course over 1 day onsite, 9 am to 5 pm
- Recertification required every 2 years to maintain an active CRMA certification

Mandt Training Course
Each participant will be trained by an instructor certified in the Mandt System. Topics that will be addressed in the Mandt System are building healthy relationships, healthy communication, and conflict management. The Mandt System teaches participants how to build upon the idea to assist individuals to de-escalate and choose their behaviors to prevent incidents from becoming a crisis.
Course Details
- Mandt is a conflict resolution training program
- 16 hour course over 2 days onsite, 9 am to 5 pm
- Recertification required

Become CPR and First Aid trained and certified. Our HSI instruction will teach skills that give you the information and the skills you need to help adults, children and infants during breathing and cardiac emergencies.
